Hello from Brooklyn!
¡Saludos desde Brooklyn!
About Us:
Collective Focus is a Woman, Queer and POC-led 501(c)(3) grassroots organization based in Bushwick and Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn.
At our core, we cultivate a people-powered alternative to extractive systems, rooted in collective care, sociocracy, and community sovereignty. Rather than addressing symptoms of poverty and hunger in isolation, we work to build community-based systems that target systemic resource disparities through circular economics and cooperative infrastructure.
We run 6 days of free food distribution and 5 days of free clothing + hygiene supplies. We exist to challenge systems of economic, racial, and environmental injustice by building community power from the ground up.
Our mission is to support populations that have been socio-economically disadvantaged through resource redistribution, mutual aid, and arts-based programming. We exist to challenge systems of economic, racial, and environmental injustice by building community power from the ground up.
We are able to advance our mission through five overarching program areas:
1. Hub Operations (via our clothing donations, health supplies, and our free store)
2. Food Justice (via our weekly food rescues, hot food distribution, and four community fridges)
3. Creative Media (via our music and podcast recording studio)
4. Artistic and Cultural Events (via workshops, classes, and collaborations with other community organizations)
5. Fundraising (via individual contributions, big donors, and grant writing efforts)
